You're probably just looking for a clever way to turn a profit. Selling air conditioners is all about supply and demand. Collect your air conditioners from yard sales, going out of business sales and buy them in months when they are on sale.
2. Wait for the dog days of summer to arrive. Many people don't think about purchasing an air conditioner until they need it. So simply wait until the weather heats up. Once your supply is in demand, you'll be ready to go.
3. Check out your competitors. As the summer heats up and you are getting ready to sell your air conditioners, call Best Buy, Home Depot, K-Mart and Wal-Mart and check on their supply. The moment that the big boys are out of stock is when you pounce.
4. Advertise your air conditioners. They are obviously heavy objects, so shipping them will scare buyers and cut into your profit. You want to advertise on local community sites like craigslist. Take a picture of the air conditioner and list your item. Then sit back and wait for customers to come to you. Be sure to set the price above what you paid and below the listed prices of local stores.
