You can repair that hole in the garden hose and keep it spraying your plants and washing your car for years. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Clean off excess dirt and debris. The repair will not last for very long if the surface of the garden hose is not clean and dry.

    • 2

Cut out the section that has the hole if it is a large tear bigger than a pinhole. Use a sharp knife and cut it straight.

    • 3

Take the removed piece to the store with you when purchasing a repair kit. There are many different kinds of hoses. Kits are available at any hardware store. The kit will include parts that will fit into the hose and allow you to easily slip the new piece onto your hose.

Tighten the clamps and start watering. Then wrap small holes with duct tape or electrical tape. Again, do this only after the spot is clean and dry. Wrap the tape loosely so that it can contract and expand as the water pressure changes.

    • 5

Extend the tape at least 4 inches on either side of the hole. Give the adhesive time to bond. For best results, wait a day before you turn on the water again.

Fix a hole in a rubber hose with a bicycle tire repair kit. Cut the patch so that it's bigger than the hole and patch as you would a tire. Hold the patch tightly while it dries. Wait at least 24 hours to use the hose.
