Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Access your abilities. Home stagers must be organized and possess an eye for detail. They should also have a general knowledge about the real estate market and design principles.
Step2
Research the home staging field. Watch TV shows, such as "Designed to Sell" and "Sell This House" to learn the basics of home staging. Reading home design magazines can also help you learn about home staging.
Step3
Receive home staging training. Look for a course in your area that allows you to become an Accredited Staging Professional upon completion. Typical courses are 3 to 7 days long.
Step4
Practice staging. Ask your family or friends if you can stage their homes to gain experience. The goal of staging is to neutralize the decor so that it appeals to buyers with different preferences and tastes.
Step5
Start your own staging company. The main benefit of becoming a home stager is that you can make your own hours and set up your business from your home.

on 9/22/2007 There are many good staging training programs out there - and no standardized certification programs. An ASP is just what that program gives out. You can also be a Home Staging Expert, a Staging Diva and many others, Certification is not required and you can stage Naked(no initials after you name). Find the program that offers training in the areas that you are weak in.
As a Home Stager, with Re$ale Design & Home Staging, I completed 2 training programs and found something useful in each one.
