It is traditional for a groom to honor his best man with a special gift. The gift represents your appreciation for all of the duties the best man has performed in the time leading up to the wedding. Here are some ideas on how to pick a gift for your best man.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider his tastes. If there is a hobby or sport that he really enjoys, buy a specific gift for him. For example, if he loves the Yankees, spring for tickets for the two of you to go to a game.

  2. Step 2

Choose a monogrammed present. Monogrammed cuff links or glasses are classy gifts that show you put a lot of thought into his gift.

  3. Step 3

Get a fun gift. Coolers, flasks or beer mugs are gifts that remind him of the good times that you have shared together. These items should be personalized with his name or initials.

  4. Step 4

Purchase a gift card. You can place a gift card to a home improvement or sporting goods store inside a personalized beer mug.

  5. Step 5

Give the best man a framed photo. Take a photo of just you and him or the entire wedding party and place it in an engraved frame.

Tips & Warnings
  • Your gift for the best man should be presented with the ushers' gifts at your rehearsal dinner.
  • You can get all of the engraving for the gifts done at a specialty store, such as Things Remembered.
  • Don't give your best man the same gift as your ushers. You should spend more on his gift.
