There are two great reasons to switch dice during a craps game. The first is to introduce a set of loaded dice. The second is to get rid of loaded dice. It is possible to switch dice in any craps game where the shooters are allowed to hold the dice (instead of using cups).

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pair of loaded dice
  1. Step 1

Hold the loaded dice in the right hand, pressing them against the palm of the hand with the little finger. Hold the other fingers in a natural position (keep them loose). You can cover this hand position by holding a cigarette between the index and middle fingers or by gently holding a small cup or wine glass. However, an experienced eye might notice what you're doing when you hold those objects.

  2. Step 2

Pick the real dice up using the thumb, index and middle finger of the right hand. While appearing to quickly toss the dice into the left hand, the loaded dice are actually released by the little finger as the index and middle fingers curl around the real pair of dice.

  3. Step 3

Drop the right hand out of sight, or at least down to waist level, while actively shaking the dice in the left hand. Keep the left hand high. Kiss the dice or have someone blow on them for luck, to keep all spectators' eyes on the left hand. Again, these distractions may alert an experienced eye.

  4. Step 4

Shoot the loaded dice. Play with the loaded dice for only a few rounds. Switch the dice back using the same method.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is best to only use the loaded dice for a couple of sure wins.
  • Use real loaded dice, not dice with the incorrect pips on certain sides.
  • It is extremely dangerous to cheat at any form of gambling. It has been known to result in serious injury, even death.
