Getting married in the Bahamas can be a beautiful experience for a couple and the island's tropical charm can be an excellent way to enter into life as a couple. Many couples come from around the world to get married on these enchanting islands and it is an easy process if you have all the necessary documents needed.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Make sure you and your partner are both in the Bahamas when you apply for a marriage license. It will not be granted to you if one of you is not there yet.
Step2
Get a certified copy of a final decree if you have been married and divorced before. If one of you has been widowed, then you must have a certified letter stating the death of your spouse.
Step3
Get a Notary Public to certify that both of you are unmarried and if one or both of you are residents of another country other than the USA.
Step4
Bring your passports and any other identification. You need it to show who you are and what country you reside in or are a citizen of.
Step5
Pay the fees for the certificates you need. The Government License Fee is $100 and the ministers fee ranges from $150 to $175.
Step6
Take photos on your special day! Photographers usually cost $300 per hour and include all the negatives needed. If you want a video of your wedding, you can get someone to make one for about $350 with editing included.
Step7
Make sure both of you are within the age requirements. The bride and groom must be 18 years old to marry. If you are under 18 years old, you will need a guardian to authorize your marriage.
