Written, electronic or printed, baby shower invitations are the usual way to invite guests to a baby shower. The invitations reflect the baby shower's style and theme and are a good keepsake for the event. Knowing how to phrase the baby shower invitations is easy when following some basic guidelines.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Baby shower theme
  • Baby shower details
  1. Step 1

Get baby shower details from the party host or honoree. Details to gather include party theme, date, times, locations, where the mother has a registry, the host's name, honoree name, anything guests should bring and an RSVP contact.

  2. Step 2

Begin the baby shower invitation with an opening that is a short phrase to invite guests to the event. Incorporate the party's theme into the opening. A nursery rhyme themed shower would include lines from a nursery rhyme as an opening such as, "Hey diddle, diddle, Madison is expecting something cute and little."

  3. Step 3

Include a description of the event such as a baby shower brunch. Next put the location, date and time of the baby shower. The location address should be street and city. If the shower is at a business location then include the business cross streets and name if necessary.

  4. Step 4

Follow with the hostess and RSVP information as well as other instructions such as where the mother has a registry. Place registry information on the invitation in small print at the bottom, include a registry card from the store or print enclosures that match the invitations. Provide both a phone number and email address as RSVP options.

  5. Step 5

Put the honoree's full name in the opening, in the body of the invitation or just before the hostess information. The honoree is the parent or the baby. If the parents know the gender and have chosen a name include the name and sex of the child, for example, "Baby Boy Smith" or "Jackson Smith."
