Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Find a dress suitable for "princess gown" transformation. Look for a long, full skirt and possibly lace or sequin detail or anything else that looks appropriately regal. Old prom dresses or even an old wedding dress from a thrift store are excellent options.
Step2
Use glue to apply faux jewels around the hem, skirt and bodice of your gown. Use glue that specifies on its packaging that it is good for use with fabric to guarantee that the jewels stay on.
Step3
Measure a length of craft wire that is long enough to encircle your head. Bend it into a circle and twist the ends together.
Step4
Bend another length of craft wire in a zig-zag diagonal pattern to form triangles that will be the peaks of your crown. Twist the ends of this piece of wire onto the first piece to form the framework for your crown.
Step5
Cut triangles out of the heavy duty gold craft paper. Glue them over the wire outline of the peaks of your crown. Repeat this step until the wire frame is covered and no longer visible and all the peaks of your crown are complete.
Step6
Glue faux or plastic jewels all over the crown to make it ornate and elaborate. Set your newly bejeweled crown aside to dry.
Step7
Use bobby pins anchored around the lower wire circle to anchor the crown to your hair once the crown is dry.
Step8
Spray the dowel rod all over with the gold spray paint. Set it on newspapers in a well-ventilated area to dry.
Step9
Glue jewels on the dowel rod once dry to transform it into your royal scepter.
Step10
Don your crown, pick up your scepter and go find that knight in shining armor.
