During the first few years of life, a baby will make several routine trips to the pediatrician's office. Each time, parents become a little more expert on strategies for getting baby in and out with as little hassle as possible. Dressing baby properly for a doctor's visit can cut down on time and headaches for you, the pediatrician and your baby. Read on to learn how to dress a baby for a pediatrician visit.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Choose something cool for baby to wear. Pediatric offices and waiting rooms are often rather warm, because young infants get cold easily. Light cotton outfits are the most breathable. If it is cold outside, put baby in a jacket that can easily be removed once in the office.
Step2
Dress your baby comfortably. An uncomfortable baby is an unhappy baby, which can result in an unhappy parent.
Step3
Skip the accessories that are not a necessity. Yes, those little tights are adorable, but don't forget you will have to peel them off and shimmy them back on your squirmy baby at most well-check visits.
Step4
Put your baby in clothes that are quick and easy to slip on and off. You will most likely have to lay the baby on a cold, hard scale in nothing but his little diaper. This is not appealing to most babies so you will want to be able to quickly re-dress him afterwards.
Step5
Make a toy or pacifier "part" of your baby's outfit. This will help keep baby distracted during shots and provide additional comfort afterward.
