How to Make Sloppy Joes

Sloppy Joes are great for parties, barbecues and kids. Kids love Sloppy Joes because it gives them the opportunity to be sloppy. Try this simple recipe and you can add any extras or flavoring you want.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 8 oz. can of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 chopped onion
  • Pot
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • Hamburger buns
  • Shredded cheese
  1. Step 1

    Pour a tiny drop of oil onto the base of the cooking pot. Place your defrosted or fresh ground beef into the cooking pot.

  2. Step 2

    Chop a whole onion and add to the ground beef. Stir the mixture and let it brown.

  3. Step 3

    After the ground beef and onions have been browned, add in the tomato sauce. Blend all of the mixture together and make sure the tomato sauce is spread all over the ground beef.

  4. Step 4

    Add in your salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar and ketchup. Stir the mixture until everything is cooked thoroughly. Add extra seasonings if you want extra flavor in the Sloppy Joe mixture.

  5. Step 5

    Get plates out and place an open hamburger bun on them. Then take each plate to the pot and scoop some Sloppy Joe mix onto each bun. Add any extra vegetables if you like such as tomatoes, pickles or lettuce.

  6. Step 6

    Sprinkle shredded cheese on each Sloppy Joe and serve to your friends, the kids or your family. Serve with potato chips or pickles if you like.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add a little Worcestershire sauce or spicy mustard for extra taste.
