Cleaning the toilet is one of the most loathed household chores around. There's nothing glamorous about getting down on your knees and scrubbing. That's why being able to clean a toilet with a can of Coke is so intriguing. All you need is a can of Coke, a little time and a desire to have a clean toilet. Now you can clean toilets like the janitor at a soda factory.
Things You'll Need
- Dirty toilet
- Toilet brush
- Can of Coke
Gather together all your items and make your way to the bathroom. Flush the toilet and use the toilet brush to scrub away any major particles.
Open the can of Coke and pour it into the toilet bowl.
Wait 1 hour.
When the hour is up, use the toilet brush to scrub underneath the seat and up the walls of the toilet.
Flush the toilet to get rid of the Coke in the bowl. Flush again, rinsing off any residue that may be present underneath the seat.
Admire your handiwork.
Tips & Warnings
- Almost any type of cola will work.
- Make sure that the soda isn't flat. The fizzing action helps facilitate the cleaning process.
- Avoid using red or orange sodas, as this may discolor instead of clean your toilet bowl.
- You can't clean stained or really soiled toilets with a can of Coke. Bring out the big guns for that job: invest in some toilet cleaner.
