A computer increases a scrapbook artist's options. With a computer the scrapbooker has increased capacity to store projects, increased power over photo clarity and finish and increased inventory in terms of layouts and embellishments. These suggestions use a computer to help with scrapbooking in a variety of ways.

From Quick Guide: Scrapbooking 101
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Digital scrapbook software
  • Digital photos
  • Photo editing software
  1. Step 1

Use the computer to edit selected digital photographs before printing them or leading them into a digital layout. There are many photo editing software packages such as Adobe Print Shop or Paint Shop Pro. With these software packages, users can manipulate photos by reducing red eye, adding a tint or a border.

  2. Step 2

Create journaling for paper layouts with a computer. If your handwriting is not legible, typing and printing the descriptions or accounts for the page is another task for the computer.

  3. Step 3

Prepare customized stickers, die-cuts or other embellishments using the computer. Select clipart online or download embellishments from digital scrapbook websites such as Scraptures. Do-it-yourself websites such as Diynetwork provide scrapbook projects.

  4. Step 4

Search for scrapbook layout ideas on the computer at hobby store sites such as Michaels. Sometimes scrapbookers need inspiration and a scrapbook class or store is not available.

  5. Step 5

Order scrapbook supplies online using the computer. Scrapbook supplies for paper or digital scrapbooking are more abundant online than in current inventories at a scrapbook or hobby store.

  6. Step 6

Incorporate digital scrapbooking layouts with paper scrapbooking to begin hybrid scrapbooking.
