Girls spend most of their lives dreaming of the perfect wedding, and the centerpiece of that dream is the perfect wedding dress. Being pregnant doesn't have to mean giving up on your dreams. Today's maternity wedding dresses are just as beautiful as their counterparts and with them you can look spectacular on your big day.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Figure out how far along you will be when the wedding comes around. This will help you determine what dress size you will need to buy.

  2. Step 2

Decide how you want the dress to fit. You can choose a tight fitting dress that accentuates your tummy or go with something looser fitting. Just don't worry about trying to cover up your bump; it will just make it that much more visible.

  3. Step 3

Think about getting a dress with an empire waist. If you won't be too far along—about four months or under—you may be able to wear a regular wedding dress in simply a bigger size. An empire waist works well with your growing belly.

  4. Step 4

Look for a special maternity wedding dress if you're not a fan of empire waist dresses. You can choose between companies that have a maternity dress line in addition to their regular wedding dress line, or you can shop from a company that specialize in maternity bridal gowns. With many styles to choose from, you're sure to find one you love.

  5. Step 5

Schedule a fitting just before the wedding. Weeks will work if the store needs that much time to alter the dress, but days would be better, especially if you're in your third trimester. This will give you the perfect fit on wedding day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Forget the notion that you can't wear white if you're pregnant. You can wear whatever color you like these days and you should. Wear something that will make you happy.
  • Choose your shoes wisely. Consider something with a small heel that's easy to walk in and buy two pairs: one in your size and one the next half-size up. That way, if your feet swell, you'll still have comfortable shoes to wear.
  • Avoid dresses with lots of bows and ruffles; these add bulk to your look.

on 5/19/2008 Melissa Renee Maternity is an online maternity store that allows you to customize your maternity gown. I love their selection of maternity dresses. Two of their dresses that would be appropriate for a wedding are the Cloe Gown and Ava Dress. They both come in range of colors and they are made to order so you don't have to wonder if they have your size or not. Here is where you can find their evening wear section http://www.melissareneematernity.com/eveningwear2.htm
