Maybe you've heard about the power of affirmations, but are unsure of how effective this method is at improving your life. Daily affirmations can make your life go in any direction that you wish and have the ability to stop your negative ways of thinking. Affirmations have been around since ancient times and have proven to have a profound effect on the direction of our lives.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose the area of your life that you wish to work on. It can be your personal life, your health or your career. You will base your daily affirmations on these areas.

  2. Step 2

Write out positive phrased affirmations. Keep the affirmations upbeat in order to allow your mind to focus on the positive.

  3. Step 3

Create affirmations that occur in the present tense. You do not want to write, "I will succeed at my job." Your phrase should be, "I am succeeding at my job."

  4. Step 4

Decide on how you wish to use the affirmations that you created. You can post them on the fridge or mirror, so that you look at them often. Or, you can record a CD with your daily affirmations and listen to them during your daily commute.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the affirmations often. You want to look at or listen to your affirmations at least three times a day. This will allow the affirmations ample time to seep into your subconscious.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not use negative connotations when creating your daily affirmations. For example, do not write "I am not fat." Instead, write "I have a healthy body and I am taking care of it today."
  • Do not limit yourself on the number of daily affirmations that you create. You can write and use as many as you wish.

on 1/8/2008 Excellent article! These are all great ways to boost positive thinking. One thing I do is put the affirmations on the screen saver of my computer, it's always nice to be greeted by something positive when I sit at the computer.
