Youtube is the Internet's biggest collection of user-created video. Unregistered users can view, keyword search or navigate through the video database, and post comments on a blog-like interface under a particular video. Registered users can upload unlimited videos, can design a virtual space allowing them to link with, send email to and share videos with other members, and use other networking tools. Let's explore the various strategies amateurs can use to attain stardom on YouTube.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Get all your information. Visit the Help Center of YouTube. By reading the various topics there you will gain a sense of YouTube's capabilities. You must become acquainted with all the tools because knowledge is power and power translates to success on your path to becoming a star.
Step2
Set up the software. Create an account with YouTube. Become comfortable with its features. Assume that you will be using them frequently and extensively.
Step3
Obtain the hardware. Purchase a device that captures high quality videos. Learn how to adjust it so that the pictures it produces are bright and clear. Make a bigger investment than a webcam because their picture quality is often grainy. Grainy images do not lead to becoming a star.
Step4
Come up with a concept that others will become addicted to when watching. It must be presentable as a series. It should be controversial, sensational or shocking. If it isn't any of these then inject it with your sex appeal, your incredible sense of humor or be bizarre. Each episode must terminate in suspense.
Step5
Do the production either alone or with assistants. Make sure it meets the requirements of YouTube.
Step6
Upload the video. Populate your virtual space. Write comments to similar videos on a daily basis to attract attention to your video. Make sure your posts entice readers to learn more about your video. As a regular poster, your page hits should soar, promoting your star status.
Step7
Involve off-line media if your production involves talent. A simple press release can boost your viewer base dramatically.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may have a cat that sings, halo effects in your living room or know a barber who can bench press 800 pounds. That's incredible! But remember. Whatever you put on video must be repeatable. Make people addicted to them because they are repeatable and each episode ends in suspense.
  • Do not post material that glorifies or incites violence.
  • Do not post material that will offend a group of people.
