One of the most important days of a couple's life together, wedding days are captured by photos to treasure for years to come. The formality and importance of the occasion requires professionalism and preparation. Planning, technical skill and creativity will create the bride and groom's ideal collection of wedding photos.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stock up on supplies, be it film, batteries or anything you'll need to shoot hundreds of photographs on the big day.

  2. Step 2

Meet with the couple beforehand to get a sense of what their priorities are for their wedding photos. Some may have a long list of specific portraits they want included, while others will want fewer family shots and more candid shots that capture the day.

  3. Step 3

Take a variety of pictures with the couple. If the weather cooperates, shoot both inside and outside. Shoot traditional poses in addition to ones where the couple are hugging or kissing.

  4. Step 4

Take photos of the groom and his groomsmen and the bride and her bridesmaids.

  5. Step 5

Find fun moments to shoot at the reception. Obvious ones include the cake cutting and speeches, but make sure to catch the first dances or the couple simply mingling with guests.

  6. Step 6

Ask the bride at some point during the reception if she's thought of any additional images she'd like taken. With the stress of the ceremony behind her, she may be able to think of additional ideas.
