Traveling back a few decades to celebrate your upcoming party? Groovy. The 70s marked a decade of great music, political controversy and carefree fun. Remember the best of the 1970s by paying tribute with a great party guests will remember for years to come.

Step1
Send out great invitations that fit your theme. Bright colors marked with peace signs and bold flowers, such as daisies, will get your guests in the groove.
Step2
Ask guests to dress up for the party. To provide a little incentive, give away a prize for the best costume.
Step3
Plan your music around the classic rock and mellow tunes of the decade.
Step4
Highlight the fun of the era in the food you serve. Fondue is a must. Hamburgers and hot dogs, chips and dips, and any other brands that spark your memory will be a hit.
Step5
Decorate with flowers, smiley faces, peace signs and other funky, bold symbols. Beads in doorways and mood lighting are other concepts to include.
Step6
Take a step back in time by playing a trivia game centered around the 1970s.
Step7
Allow guests to create tie-dyed t-shirts as a fun party favor.
Step8
Host a showing of a great 70s movie or television show.
