The excitement of the Stanley Cup playoffs has one downfall: it means the NHL hockey season is coming to an end. The end of the season means that there is no more professional hockey to fill your days and nights. For a couple of months, you will need to find other things to help you bide the time until the puck is dropped once again.

Step1
Read about potential draft picks. There are plenty of young players that are hoping to make it to the "big league." If you do your research on the potential players, you will be more informed when the draft happens.
Step2
Schedule a draft day party. Invite all of your hockey enthusiast friends and colleagues over to your house to watch the draft.
Step3
Find out the upcoming season schedule for your favorite team. Mark your calendar to make sure that you don't miss watching any games. Make sure that you have the appropriate TV and cable packages so that you are able to see as many games as possible.
Step4
Plan your fantasy hockey team. Create your roster early and check it often. If you aren't already in a league, or in enough leagues, you can start a new one. Research last years players and read about hopefuls for the upcoming season.
Step5
Make NHL.com your homepage on your computer so that you don't miss any breaking news. There are plenty of articles and stats that you can read so that you become an even more informed fan.
Step6
Plan a trip to Toronto and visit the Hockey Hall of Fame. You should give yourself plenty of time to walk through the museum and take in all of the exhibits and take part in any activities.
