A portfolio is a dynamic and effective tool to show consumers what you and your business is capable of achieving. It is indicative of how much you have done in your particular field, the terms of your business, your goals and what people can expect when they do business with you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Decide what kind of a portfolio you want to create. You can create a basic file, an album, a CD portfolio or on online portfolio. Develop your business portfolio in more than one format to cater to a wider variety of clients.
Step2
Provide important details about your company and the kinds of services you provide. Also include details about your existing clients and feature testimonials from them.
Step3
Include photographs of your products. Create a before and after section to show the transition your work has made over the course of time. Also include the pictures of your staff and their qualifications.
Step4
Include a synopsis of your recent business achievements in the portfolio. This will help to encourage potential clients to work with you.
Step5
Organize supplemental materials like letters of recommendation from your clients and factual information about your business. Create charts and tables to illustrate your company's performance, effectiveness, market share and affordability.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep your portfolio brief and to the point. Only include important pieces of information that potential customers need to have.
  • Update your portfolio periodically.
  • Proofread and edit your business portfolio before offering it to potential customers. Spelling errors, grammatical errors and formatting problems will tarnish your image.
