Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Check with your doctor to see what type of exercise program is advisable for you.
Step2
Find an area (10 to 15 square feet) to begin practicing the general mechanics of this move. Your backyard or basement should work until you have mastered the basics.
Step3
Get a feel for the exercise by getting on all fours (hands and knees) then rising to your feet with your hands remaining on the floor. Try holding this position for a few seconds then go back onto your knees when you get tired. Continue until the movement becomes comfortable.
Step4
Try a few bear walks by getting in the position (hands and feet) mentioned above. Next, raise your head and begin crawling forward slowly starting with your right hand and left foot following with the left hand and right foot. Once this movement has been mastered its time to try out the exercise in a larger area.
Step5
Practice the bear walk until you can crawl quickly and fluently. Keep moving (crawling) until you become tired or are unable to maintain proper form. Listen to your body and stop the exercise if you experience any pain.
