Some people are born with inner confidence that drives them towards success. Yet all of us must deal with occasional uncertainty. In her book "The Secret," Rhonda Byrne tells us that our thoughts have the ability to create. Therefore, changing our negative thoughts into positive feelings enables us to lead confident and joyful lives. Read on and learn how to create that inner spark of a fulfilled life.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Radiate joy and confidence in the present moment. Being self-assured does not mean you are conceited. Confident people are secure in who they are and attract positive energy into their lives through their thoughts.
Step2
Monitor your feelings not your thoughts. We routinely have 50,000 thoughts a day; stop trying to control them. Instead, pay attention to how you are feeling. If you feel unsure of yourself, shift your focus to a pleasant thought or experience until you get back in the confident groove.
Step3
Write down several positive affirmations to feel more confident. For example, "I am a smart and energetic speaker," or "I am a loving and caring parent who knows his child's needs." Keep the list handy while you perform your daily visualizations.
Step4
Spend 10 to 20 minutes each day reading your list and channeling confident emotions. "The Secret" emphasizes attracting your desires through feelings. Therefore, when you are visualizing, feel your confidence as intensely as possible.
Step5
Stop taking yourself so seriously. When we laugh at our shortcomings, all negativity dissipates creating a path for positive energy to flow. Lighten up and allow yourself to see the brighter side of life.
Step6
Let go of negative emotions. Holding onto insecurity, resentment or fear will derail any positive progress. Find ways to control your emotions. If you find this impossible, consult a counselor or psychiatrist to help you work through them.
