Step 1
Make multiplication fun. A lot of children dread math and especially find the multiplication tables difficult. If you can make the learning process fun for your child, that could spark a lifelong love of math. Don't pressure your child; allow her to learn at her own pace. Some children learn faster than others.

Step 2
Use flash cards to teach your child to multiply at home. Flash cards have always been one of the best means to teaching a child the multiplication tables. On one side of the flash card, have a multiplication question. On the other side of the flash card, have the answer. It is going to take a lot of repetition, however your child will eventually get the hang of it. Even after your child has seemingly mastered the flash cards, periodically quiz your child to reinforce what he has learned.

Step 3
Practice with real world examples around your house. Math can be confusing, especially if your child doesn't understand the real world implications of math. By giving your child tangible examples, she can learn multiplication tables even faster.

Step 4
Purchase software aimed at helping children learn their multiplication tables. There are numerous programs on the market that can help. Rhymes Tables has a program that teaches your child multiplication tables using a multi-sensory system. Contact Rhymes Tables via phone at (877) 361-2912, via email at Larissa@RhymesTables.com or on their website.
