Florida International University emphasizes research and academics and is located in one of the most popular cities in America–-Miami, Florida. It has grown into one of the largest universities in America in its relatively short history.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Take a campus tour of Florida International University. FIU campus tours last an hour and take place every weekday at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. as well as the first Saturday of each month at 10.30 a.m. The tours are limited to 30 participants so you need to sign up early on the FIU website.
Step2
Upgrade your campus tour to a "campus tour plus." This includes everything that is on the campus tour plus a meeting with a department representative for specific majors. You can find the schedule on the website and also schedule your tour for different departments.
Step3
Attend an open house at FIU. Open houses during the fall semester are set up for high school seniors who want more information about the school. The open house will allow potential students to learn about admissions, campus life, career opportunities that FIU can facilitate and give the student a tour of the campus. Spring open houses are for admitted students. RSVP for an open house at the FIU website.
Step4
Schedule group tours by visiting the FIU website. If you are planning to bring more than eight people, you can schedule a special group tour. You need to do this well in advance to make sure there is availability.
Step5
Check with your hotel to see if you can get a discount. Many area hotels offer discounts to students visiting FIU and you can find a list of hotels in the area on the FIU website.
