Keep your leg above your heart, you'll be surprised at how much this will reduce the swelling.

Do not start walking or running too soon. It'll feel like the tendon is ripping from you muscle, it's very uncomfortable.

Follow the advice of your doctor on the exercise schedule. When ready and able, I recommend swimming and the step mill machine, not the stairmaster-it's too strenuous in the beginning. Those two exercises were low impact and provided great range of motion.

Massage the area, use lotion-it will help heal the scar.

Stay with it, it will take a long time but the tendon will come back strong.
