Instructions

    • 1

Consider your audience. Are you entering Architecture school? Are you applying for a specific position? This is your once chance to visually submit your resume. Select the best pieces from your collection, making sure they showcase your diversity and broad range as an artist.

    • 2

Consider presentation of your portfolio. How do you want your pieces represented? Your personality and the works represented should flow into a presentation. Select a binder/portfolio carrying case according to your aesthetics.

    • 3

Pieces should be approximately the same size. To achieve this, take close-up photos of the larger pieces and print color photos that are the same size as your smaller pieces. An 18" X 24" piece can be printed as a color 8" X 10" for example.

    • 4

Place pieces on background paper or matting that compliments, and does not distract from the work. Make sure everything is straight and trimmed evenly.

    • 5

Include your name on your portfolio. Also, include media information or drawing names if you like.

    • 6

The 1st piece represented in your portfolio should be your 2nd best piece. Your portfolio should always end with your best piece. Review your portfolio and have an art mentor provide you feedback. Great job!
