Simple to teach, Amazing to see; especially for children. Teach your special buddy how to shake. Very Interesting Technique!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your dog's favorite (irresistable) small treat
  • A person that doesn't care about a dog possibly licking his hand
  1. Step 1

Find out your dog's favorite small treat.

  2. Step 2

You and your dog must go to a place where there is no one else. Your dog will get too distracted with others around.

  3. Step 3

Have your dog sit down; Give him/her a treat

  4. Step 4

Take out a second treat and show it to him/her but DON'T give it to him/her. Instead put the treat in the your hand and make a fist. Put your balled fist (with the treat) in front of the dog and say "Shake".

  5. Step 5

He/She will most likely not respond the way you want him/her to. He/She will most likely sniff/lick your hand. Just keep repeating shake.

  6. Step 6

**When dogs want something in the dirt, they will usually dig.

So in a little while, your dog should put your hand on your fist trying to get the treat. When this happens give him/her the treat. Repeat this process until he shakes as soon as you put out your hand.

  7. Step 7

After a while, you won't need a treat or you won't need to ball up your fist. Just say "Shake"

Tips & Warnings
  • DO NOT YELL at your dog. He will be scarred for life! It's like telling a baby not to poop in his/her diaper. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND!
