Plant red tubular shaped flowers, that are rich in nectar.
Keep several feeders filled with fresh sugar water daily. -
Step 2
Nectar Recipe
I have found that the best recipe is to make your own solution.
I think the birds prefer it over the various instant mixes.
1 cup sugar
4 cups water
boil 1 - 2 minutes
Cool and store in refrigerator up to about 10 days -
Step 3
Hummers love bathing. Spay flowers frequently and they will splash among the leaves of the bush or plant.
-
Step 4
If you want more than one hummingbird, you migh have hummer fights on your hands! they are very protective of their own feeder.
