Things You'll Need:
- whole grain bread
- large egg
- 3 Tbsp. liquid (water, milk, soya milk, or?)
- dash of salt
- dash of cinnamon
- Pam olive oil spray, or other oil to grease pan
- icing sugar (optional, to sprinkle on top after cooking)
- butter or margarine
- maple syrup
- pie plate
- frying pan & pancake flipper
-
Step 1
Spray the frying pan with Pam. Preheat frying pan over medium heat.
-
Step 2
Break egg into the pie plate. Add liquid, salt and cinnamon, then beat with a fork until the yolk and white of the egg are completely mixed.
-
Step 3
Place bread slices in the egg mixture. Let sit for about 20 seconds on each side, so that the bread soaks up some of the egg mixture.
-
Step 4
Place soaked bread in preheated frying pan. Brown one side, turn, then brown the second side.
-
Step 5
Remove from frying pan. If you are using icing sugar, sprinkle or sift it over top of the french toast now. Serve hot with margarine/butter and maple syrup.
