Nintendo's Super Smash Bros Melee is great multiplayer fun. However, learning to play can be difficult amidst all the chaos. Here are some quick tips to help you stay competitive.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A copy of Super Smash Bros Melee
  • A GameCube or Wii
  • Some GameCube controllers
  • Some friends to play with
  1. Step 1

Learn to use the yellow C-Stick to do smash attacks. Pressing the stick up does an Up-Smash, right does a Right-Smash, left does a Left-Smash, and down does a Down-Smash.

  2. Step 2

Use the L and R triggers to block often.

  3. Step 3

Once you master using the L and R triggers to block, hold L or R, then push left or right on the control pad to side-step. Wait for your opponent to attack you, side-step it, then use the C-Stick to do a smash attack on your opponent.

Tips & Warnings
  • This will help you stay competitive at a beginner's level.

on 8/10/2007 The c-stick is very cheap. And you can't use it in 1 player mode. It's not very good to teach somebody who's just starting to start using it because they'll never know the original way of doing it with the A button. And when you use the c-stick you can't charge your smash attacks.
