There are so many different reasons why we get depressed, we don't mean to, it just happens. If we lose our confidence we lose our self respect which can cause us to be depressed and depression can and sometimes does cause death. My friend had no confidence due to some things that happened to her when she was a child living at home, which eventually caused her to have no self respect, which then turned into a very bad depression. Loved ones tried to help her, and tried to talk her into seeing a Doctor, but she said it's too embarrassing to talk to a Doctor and that she would be fine. She eventually had two beautiful Daughters, and they were her world, she seemed to be doing better, then one day her husband decided he wasn't ready to settle down. It tore her world apart when he left them. She tried , but found it difficult to care for her Daughters properly, which made her depression even worse than it had ever been, again she wouldn't get professional help, she just kept saying she'll be fine. Her Daughters are grown up now and have babies of their own and just wish they could share them with their Mom. We will always miss you my friend, and you would be so very proud of your Daughters and Grandbabies. I still don't know enough about depression, but if this article will help even just one person to become aware of just how serious this problem is I will feel it was worth writing.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Knowledge of what depression can do to you, and what to do to get help with it.
  • Family and Friends.
  • A good Doctor.
  • A diary.

Step1
God Loves His Precious Children. Remember, God made us all the way He wanted us to be (good), and if anyone try's to change that, then they are wrong. He is proud of His creation and that should make us happy enough.
Step2
Mean Person. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER let anyone tell you your not good enough, pretty enough, handsome enough, smart enough, etc.. Don't let them hurt you, Physically or mentally.
Step3
Feeling All Alone. Don't ever feel like your all alone, because your not. There really is someone out there for you, someone that understands, someone that really does want to help, and someone that really does care.
Step4
Happy People. Spend time with happy people, there are lot's of happy people out there,
and you can be one of them. Try to avoid being around negative people, because it's too hard to be positive when someone your around is always negative. You don't have to have anyone with you, just be somewhere where happy people are, like for instance a petting zoo, that always makes me feel better.
Step5
A true story. A really good book to read and is also a true story (The Lost Boy), There are three books, each book tells you which one comes next.
Step6
Books for more information. There are also all kinds of books and information about self confidence and depression that can help us understand what it's all about.
Step7
Diary. Maybe even use a diary. write things that are bothering you, then write what you can do to help fix those things, and then write about how you DID fix those things. It always amazes me about what I come up with in my diary. Sometimes I don't even write in it, I just doodle.
Step8
HAVE A HAPPY DAY!!!! Keep on your mind that things WILL get better, and that when they do get better you will be able to help someone else someday, wouldn't that be GREAT?
Step9
Say Daily. DON'T QUIT
When your luck is down and your world goes wrong,
When life's all uphill and the road is long,
Keep your spirits high, For through thick and thin
you must carry on if you are to win.
Never mind if things slow you down a bit,
You'll come out on top, But you mustn't quit.

Tips & Warnings

  • Please always know that there is someone who cares and, wants to help.
  • Remember, NO ONE is better than you.
  • Find some kind of hobby to do.
  • Pray.
  • Never feel like it's too embarrassing to ask for help. If you don't ask for help now, it may be too late later.
  • When your feeling down don't watch the news. Watch a funny movie.
  • Don't be alone too much.
  • Avoid alcohol, alcohol is a depressant.
  • This is not professional advise, this is only my personal advise.
