There are many reasons why people decide to have a weekend break, whether it is to get away from every day stresses and strains, for a sporting event or whether it is simply a chance to gather with friends and family. The problem is that it can cost quite a lot of money for a short break. The good news is that by following some of these simple steps, you could easily find a bargain and end up having more spending money for your trip.

From Quick Guide: Bargain Hunting 101
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Draw up a list of possible locations that you may want to visit. There are so many different places to consider so you have the decision of whether to stay in the United Kingdom or traveling somewhere abroad.

  2. Step 2

If you have decided upon a location or an area to go to, you then have to make the decision upon whether to go for a package deal or to see if you can do everything yourself. Sometimes you may be able to arrange things on your own for a cheaper rate so this is something else that needs some consideration.

  3. Step 3

When you have made a decision upon what kind of things you are after, you have to then make a decision of whether to go to your nearest travel agents, or search the internet. The advantages of using the internet include being able to compare prices as well as finding bargains that are only exclusive to internet customers.

  4. Step 4

If you do not have access to the internet, you can always search TeleText if you have that feature available to you, as they display many different pages of all of the exclusive bargains available from the UK to all around Europe.

  5. Step 5

Another way to find bargain trips is by going to your local travel agents and looking in the window. There you will find a number of last minute deals.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not settle for the first price that you see because the chances are that you may have been able to find a cheaper deal somewhere else.
  • Make sure that if you decide to do things on your own, that you arrange everything that you need; otherwise you could become unstuck when you are on your short break.
  • If you use a package deal, make sure that it covers everything that you need and make also sure that you get exactly what it claims that you get from it too.
