Opened on 3 May 1907, Uttoxeter Racecourse in Staffordshire is a left-handed oval course situated between Barton on Trent and Stoke on Trent, just off the A50 motorway. With 25 fixtures annually and many special days, you can plan to watch horse racing here throughout the year.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Take your pick from any one of Uttoxeter’s three enclosures: the Premium Grandstand, the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure and the Center Course Family Enclosure. Enclosure ticket prices include admission and free parking for cars.
Step2
Buy your ticket in advance. Book 5 days in advance of the race day if you book online and 1 day before if you book over the phone. Pre-booking badges will allow enough time for you to receive them by post. You can also buy badges at the entry gate on race day.
Step3
Take a train to Uttoxeter. The Uttoxeter Railway Station is right next to the Racecourse. If you choose to drive over, take the M1, M6, A50, A515 and A518 motorways. You can land on Center Course if you come by helicopter and 7 miles away at Tatenhill Airfield at Needwood, if you come by plane.
Step4
Plan on dressing in your smartest clothes. Arrive early to avoid the heavy race day traffic. You can look around the race course before the race starts. If you dress well, you can participate in one of the fancy dress competitions and win a prize.
Step5
Go to the parade ring shortly before the action commences to pick the horse you fancy. You can place your bet at one of the Tote Betting points located throughout the course, with a bookmaker or in the Race Course Betting Shop. You’ll find a cash point machine in Betting Hall
Step6
Experience the thrill of the race from the stands or from different vantage points.
