How to Make a Manhattan on the Rocks

A Manhattan on the rocks is a sophisticated drink for the person who loves the sweet taste of whiskey. Perfect with steak or any red meat dish, a Manhattan on the rocks is a great drink to try in lieu of a vodka tonic. Here's a great Manhattan recipe.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bourbon whiskey
  • Sweet vermouth
  • Maraschino cherries and juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Bar glass
  • Stirrer
  1. Step 1

    Fill your bar glass full of ice cubes.

  2. Step 2

    Add 3 oz. (2 shots) bourbon, a dash of sweet vermouth and a dash of cherry juice into the glass.

  3. Step 3

    Stir your drink in both directions so that it is well mixed.

  4. Step 4

    Garnish with a couple of cherries and serve. Now go relax, enjoy and cook a steak nice and rare with your Manhattan on the rocks.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some people also like to add a dash Angostura Bitters to their Manhattan. It gives it more bite.
  • Always practice responsible drinking. Designate a driver or take alternative transportation when drinking.
