Step 1
Lighten up. Look for the humorous side to events, especially stressful ones, before they get you down. A flat tire may be annoying, but you have to laugh at the gizmo they give you to jack your car up these days, don't you?
-
Step 2
Read the comics or a humorous column every day. You can subscribe to all kinds of daily e-humor. Find something that works for your sense of humor; not everyone finds the same stuff funny.
-
Step 3
Hang out with funny people. You may not be surrounded by comedians at work, but you can make an effort to be with people who you can laugh with in your spare time.
-
Step 4
Keep funny things close at hand. Cut out cartoons that make you laugh and put them on the bulletin board or somewhere you will see them.
-
Step 5
Watch sitcoms or comedy festivals, rather than heavy dramas. Feed your brain humor, and you'll start being funny yourself.
-
Step 6
Share the laughter. As long as you are considerate of people's time and space, most of us really appreciate a good laugh.

on 8/16/2008 "gizmo?" Isn't it important to learn the proper names of your car utensils? I once earned some very strange looks and a visit from the vice squad because I told people I was keeping a john in my car's trunk.
Seriously, if I could figure out how to do the stars thingy, I would give you five.
