From Quick Guide: Apple Treats
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 medium apples
  • Vegetable oil
  • Confectioner's sugar
  1. Step 1

Beat 2 eggs well in a large mixing bowl. Mix the eggs with 1 1/2 cups of milk.

  2. Step 2

Mix together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, half a cup of sugar and a dash of salt in a separate bowl. Add these ingredients to the eggs and milk in the large mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

Peel and grate 3 medium apples into large, course pieces. Add these to the mixture.

  4. Step 4

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a skillet on the stovetop. Using a spoon, place about 1 large tablespoon full of batter into the hot oil in the skillet. Cook until lightly golden, and then flip over to cook the other side. This will take about 2 minutes on each side.

  5. Step 5

Remove the apple latke from skillet with a spatula. Place on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.

  6. Step 6

Sprinkle the hot apple latke with confectioner's sugar, and place on a plate with a side of applesauce.
