    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Milk bottles or other jugs
    • Aluminum foil
    • Cheese cloth or large white gauze
    • Liquid laundry starch
    • Medium bowl
    • Permanent markers
      • 1

Make a round ball with aluminum foil. Poke a pencil or small stick into the foil ball. Put the end of the stick into the milk bottle or another jug. Make one head for each ghost.

      • 2

Shape more tinfoil into a large snake to drape across the jug. Form two for your ghost's arms.

      • 3

Cut cheese cloth or white gauze into squares that are big enough to cover each of your ghosts.

      • 4

Dip each square into a bowl full of liquid laundry starch. One at a time, take the gauze or cheese cloth pieces out. Squeeze the cloth to remove any excess starch.

      • 5

Drape the starched cloth over each jug with a foil head and arms. Make sure your ghost forms are in an area where they can sit without being disturbed overnight. Once the cloth is in place don't move it.

      • 6

Carefully lift the gauze from the ghost form after they have dried overnight. Each form should be stiff and sit on its own.

      • 7

Use permanent marker to draw eyes and mouth on your ghosts.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Try making a ghost dog or cat by forming aluminum foil into a shape you want, and then covering with the gauze as you did with the jugs.

    • Only use containers that you will discard after making your ghosts. The starch will dry and leave a film on the jugs.

    • Don't put your ghosts outside unless you bring them in before it rains. They are not weatherproof.
