Nearly everything you can do on a stationary desktop can now be done just as quickly on a portable laptop. No longer is a person tied to her desk. Now people can do work, watch movies and even play video games away from the home or office. Here's the best way to buy a multimedia laptop that will do all these things.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what features are most important to have in a laptop. Not everybody needs the same things from a multimedia laptop. If we did, there wouldn't be so many choices available to us.

  2. Step 2

Visit a computer store. Most computer stores will have a variety of multimedia laptops on display. Play around with some of them, ask questions of one of the sales associates. It's important to have in mind exactly what you need. Sales associates will frequently try to sell the more expensive item.

  3. Step 3

Pick out three laptops that fit your needs, and write down the model numbers and manufacturers.

  4. Step 4

Investigate each of the three models that were picked out. Research online at sites such as the Consumer Reports website, and call computer repair establishments to find out if any of them have the tendency to break more than others.

  5. Step 5

Select the laptop that best fits with your needs. Spend some time on the display model at the computer store to make sure that it feels right, but don't buy it if it's not immediately necessary. Think about it overnight. If it still feels like the right fit in the morning, then it's time to buy.
