There are measures that you can take to ensure a happy awakening each and every morning. You can exert a happy meter in your dreams and find happiness when you wake up every day. Follow these steps.

Steps to Do the Night Before

Step1
Allow enough time to get the amount of sleep your body needs. Everyone is different. Notice the difference between six and eight hours of sleep and how it affects you. Know how much you need.
Step2
Eat light if you must eat before retiring. A happy tummy equals a happy human.
Step3
Invest in a mattress and pillow that suit your comfort needs. This is not the place to scrimp on quality.
Step4
Recite a happy mantra each night as you fall asleep, such as "I will wake up happy and refreshed," or "I am so happy. Happiness is a good sleep."
Step5
Set your coffeemaker to be brewing at the appointed wake-up time. The smell of coffee spurs the happy muscles.

Steps to Do in the Morning

Step1
Wake up naturally. Happiness and alarm clock do not fit in the same sentence. If you do use one, use a CD alarm clock and set it to play the happiest tune you know.
Step2
Stretch before you leave the bed. Cats know this trick and always stretch out the creaks after a long nap.
Step3
Holler good morning to the universe and make yourself laugh. It's hard to be cranky when you're smiling.
