Things You'll Need:
- Barbecue grill
- Barbecue spatula
- Barbecue tongs
- Barbecue fork
- Barbecue basting brush
- Barbecue cleaning brush
- Spray-on grill cleaner
-
Step 1
Flip it. Slide a barbecue spatula under a hamburger and flip it over by twisting your wrist. Spatulas are great for burgers or any kind of ground meat. They allow for easy flipping while minimizing the chance of the meat falling apart.
-
Step 2
Grab it. Use barbecue tongs to adjust sausages and hot dogs, making sure that they are cooked evenly. These tend to roll around on the grill, and tongs are great for control.
-
Step 3
Stick it. Barbecue forks are usually about a foot long with two tines, and are perfect for flipping steaks or chicken.
-
Step 4
Brush it. If you are using barbecue sauce, you will need a long-handled barbecue basting brush to apply it while your meat is on the grill. Dip the brush in a bowl of sauce and slather it on.
-
Step 5
Clean it. After the grill has been turned off or the coals extinguished, use a spray-on grill cleaner and a metal barbecue cleaning brush to remove any residue on the grill.
