How to Get Microsoft Information Technology Training

Complete Microsoft's Information Technology training online or offline. Getting certified as a Microsoft Certified Professional, by either method, is almost guaranteed to boost your computer career. Microsoft certification makes you stand out from other job applicants. The MCP is the entry level for future Microsoft certifications. You must qualify for it by taking the exam. Prepare for the exam by taking classes from a certified training vendor or by purchasing the exam preparation materials directly from Microsoft.

  • Exam preparation books or videos
  1. Step 1

    Visit Microsoft Learning to see a list of certifications, training courses, materials and study options. Find out here what skills you have and which skills you need. Use your assessment results to chart a course to get your first Microsoft certification.

  2. Step 2

    Review the preparation guides for each exam on the Microsoft website so that you have enough information to determine what each exam measures.

  3. Step 3

    Visit Cram Session to try an introductory course or download exam preparation materials. Purchase books, videos, or exam preparation materials.

  4. Step 4

    Get hands-on experience. Take online training courses or instructor-led classes from a Microsoft Partner.

  5. Step 5

    Take a practice test before you take the actual exam. This will give you an opportunity to decide if you are ready to test before you pay the exam fee.

  6. Step 6

    Register for one of the MCP track exams. If you intend to obtain advanced certifications, start with the first exam in your chosen specialization.
