Step 1
Visit sites like kaboose, PBS Kids, Nickelodeon or Nickjr, yahooligans, Noggin or Family Fun. All of these sites have games appropriate for kids. Many of them are educational, too. For example, PBS Kids has games for popular television shows like Curious George that help kids learn numbers and ABCs.
-
Step 2
Play with friends online at Club Penguin or Webkinz. Club Penguin is an interactive site where you can move a penguin into different worlds and interact with other players. The site utilizes many safety features, including no real names and preset messages to speak to others online. To play Webkinz, you do have to buy one of the stuffed animals, but once you have a Webkinz, access to the website and games is free.
-
Step 3
Take advantage of Disney's website. Disney's website has many games, including games for preschoolers that revolve around shows like Little Einsteins or Higglytown Heroes.
-
Step 4
Learn while playing games online at websites like Primary Games or Scholastic. Both of these sites offer educational games that help kids in language arts, math, science, and social studies.
-
Step 5
Go to sites like Discovery Kids, Learning Planet or visit the NASA Kids Club for games that will help your kids learn about animals, science and space exploration.
-
Step 1
Access the Disney Toontown website, and your child will enter a whole new world. Your child can create her own character and interact with her online friends while playing this game where kids work to defeat evil robot cogs with all sorts of gags, including squirting flowers and cream pies.
-
Step 2
Browse sites like World of WarCraft or Final Fantasy XI for older kids. Friends can interact in these games, too.
