Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Write down your position on artificial insemination. Prepare for a barrage of questions. You don't want to be caught off guard.
Step2
Use a friend as a sounding board and a devil's advocate. Debate the merits of your choice with the friend, requesting your debater to take opposite sides and prep you with possible questions you may receive.
Step3
Join a support group of others who have chosen artificial insemination. There you can speak freely about the challenges of upholding your decision and maintaining your cool with those who want to quarrel with your decision. Find a group through givf.com.
Step4
Talk with your religious counselor. Many religions oppose artificial fertilization. Prepare to be on the wrong side, according to your fellow church members, if your religion opposes artificial insemination and you do it anyway.
Step5
Refuse to argue. You do not have to win a debate if you choose not to participate. Prepare short, curt responses to those who would insist on attacking your choice. Saying "It is none of your business," or "We did this for very personal reasons, which shall remain so," is an option.
