How to Care for and Handle a ZZ Plant

Zamioculcas zamiifolia or ZZ plant is not the plant to pass by at the nursery. A ZZ plant is an easy houseplant to grow because it is tough. The houseplant requires some formal care but not nearly as much as other indoor plants.

1. Forget about watering and the plant lives. Thick underground tubers store water for months. Allow the soil to remain fairly dry.
2. Water it every other week. Let the soil dry out between watering.
3. Place the plant in low light and it can survive.
4. Set the plant in higher light and the quality of the plant transcends.
5. Keep the plant away from hot, direct sunlight because the plant can burn.
