Things You'll Need:
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton ball
-
Step 1
Soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol. Do not wring it out, you will need as much of the liquid as possible.
-
Step 2
Tilt your head to the side, with the invaded ear facing up.
-
Step 3
Squeeze the cotton ball over your ear while aiming the dripping alcohol inside. Leave plenty of space between the cotton ball and your ear for the spider to crawl out.
-
Step 4
Remove the spider from your ear area as soon as it exits, or else it may go back in. The spider is likely to scurry out quickly, so be prepared as it exits to brush him away.

on 6/6/2009 I live in the side of a mountain, it was a beautiful day, had the door open, laying on the sofa snoozing when i felt something in my ear. i got up and knew something was crawling into my ear. i poked my long nail in there to try and dig it out before it got too far in. i got a few legs but it continued to crawl in. so i poured rubbing alcohol in to kill it (we have brown recluses here) and i didnt think it had bitten me. my father came over to try with tweezers to get it out but it went in further. i know its dead now because i dont feel it moving or flittering. so now i have a dead spider somewhere in my ear and i dont know where. can i wait 48 hours to see an ENT doc or should i go to an urgent care as soon as they open?
