Things You'll Need:
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 ½ oz. pkg. dry spaghetti sauce mix
- 1 pkg. lasagna noodles uncooked
- 1 pt. small curd cottage cheese
- 1 tbsp. dried or fresh basil
- 1 tbsp. dried or fresh parsley
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 ½ cups chopped tomatoes
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 large non-stick skillet with lid

Step 1
Brown ground beef in skillet until crumbly and drain fat.

Mix salt, basil, parsley and half mozzarella cheese with cottage cheese.

Sprinkle ½ pkg. dry spaghetti sauce mix over beef.

Layer ½ pkg. uncooked noodles over beef and sauce mix.

Spread ½ cottage cheese mixture over noodles.

Repeat noodle and cottage cheese layers.

Pour tomatoes and water over lasagna noodles.

Sprinkle with remaining dry spaghetti sauce mix.

Cover tightly and simmer on stovetop for 30 to 35 minutes.

Pierce noodles with fork to test for for doneness.

Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and cover with lid until cheese melts.

Remove from heat and let lasagna sit for 10 minutes before serving.
