To curb the appetite, it doesn't take a prescription, or an over the counter medication. There are many things you can do to curb the appetite naturally. Most of these come down to food and drink and the times in which they are consumed. There are natural items that everyone has at home, which can be used for appetite suppression.

Step1
Introduce plenty of fiber into your diet. Use fiber to make yourself feel full so that you eat less. Take fiber in some form before a meal, in order consume less, and get the best weight loss effects. Eat high fiber foods as snacks if you want something in between meals.
Step2
Use flax seed in your cooking. Benefit from its high fiber content to make each meal more filling. Use flax meal in baking mixes or grind your own flax seeds as a salad topping.
Step3
Increase your water intake every day. Drink water before meals and anytime you are hungry in order to decrease your appetite.
Step4
Get more exercise. Use exercise to increase the endorphins that stave off hunger.
Step5
Drink coffee or tea--both are known to be appetite suppressants. Drink them before or during a meal to help you feel full quicker.
Step6
Eat salads often. Use the high fiber and water content of salads to give you the appetite suppression power of both at once.
Step7
Eat everything slowly to give your appetite time to catch up with the food your body has already eaten. Chew slowly and continue to drink water during the meal.
