How to Keep a Relationship Sexy

Long term relationships are a wonderful part of life's journey. However, being with the same person for so long sets the couple into a routine where you can take the other person for granted and one or both of you can lose interest in the other, causing the spark which got you together in the first place to fizzle.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Eat well and exercise regularly. Sometimes people don't concern themselves as much about these things when they are in a comfortable relationship--a common mistake. By eating the right foods and exercising, you'll feel sexier, look better and feel more confident, which will attract your partner to you all over again.
Step2
Understand what your partner wants out of the relationship. Talking is a very simple, yet often overlooked avenue to open communication--a closer tie to your partner. Ask what would make him happier and share with him things you like and what will brighten your day.
Step3
Compliment your partner. Keep them unexpected (but give them often) or she will begin to take the compliments for granted and they won't mean as much. Compliment on more than just looks--include compliments for such things as an idea she has, the way she helps people or how she is with the children.
Step4
Romance your partner. This includes taking sexual initiative (especially if you are not the one who usually starts this) as well as small gestures which mean a lot such as candlelight, flowers and cooking dinner.
Step5
Surprise your partner occasionally. Provide romantic gestures, a surprise date or tickets to something he is interested in. Call in sick to work on his day off and spend it in bed together. Even cleaning the house will surprise and delight most people.
Step6
Remember special dates such as birthdays and anniversaries. Set your computer's calendar to remind you at least one week in advance so you can begin preparations and again the day before so are prepared for the next day.

Tips & Warnings

  • Get a sitter for the night or drop the kids off at someone else's house every now and again.
