Step 1
Stay calm. Getting yourself worked up over holiday travel problems will not get you to your destination any quicker.
-
Step 2
Leave early. If you are traveling during peak holiday season, try to leave a day or two before the rush begins. Another option is to book an early morning flight.
-
Step 3
Plan activities or bring supplies that the kids will enjoy. Children often become restless during travel and holiday delays will only make it worse. Bring along coloring books, hand-held games or anything else that will keep them occupied during the trip.
-
Step 4
Ship your gifts ahead of time. Lugging all of your presents around is just going to make your holiday travel more stressful. Also, airlines have limits on how much you are allowed to bring on the plane.
-
Step 5
Bring along snacks. Pack a bag full of easy to eat snacks for the trip. Fruit snacks, nuts and granola bars are good options and will stave off any hunger that occurs during travel delays.

on 12/4/2008 :D This is a helpful article. I don't travel much anymore but there was once a time I traveled from the west coast to the east at least twice a month! 5stars!

on 12/3/2008 Snacks are important because airport food is expensive, and airplane food isn't always edible.

Thank you.
