Holiday traditions are a fun way to bring the office staff together to celebrate the season. When you set out to start holiday traditions, make sure that it is okay with management and the tradition does not exclude people of different religions.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Organize a food drive. Providing holiday dinner for families in need will be a noble office holiday tradition. Collect canned goods and donate them to a local food bank.

  2. Step 2

Adopt a family. Many offices will adopt a family and provide Christmas for the family. Buy food items for their holiday dinner and toys for the family's children.

  3. Step 3

Collect money and make a donation to charity. Vote on a charity and give all collected money to that charity. Popular choices include a local homeless shelter, S.P.C.A., or a soup kitchen.

  4. Step 4

Go caroling. Organize volunteers in your office to visit a children's hospital and sing to the children.

  5. Step 5

Arrange a Secret Santa gift exchange. People that wish to participate will pick out names from a hat and buy a gift for that chosen person. A monetary limit should be set on gifts.

  6. Step 6

Start a holiday cookie exchange. Participants will each bake a batch of cookies and split them up among each other.

Tips & Warnings
  • Nominate one or two people to do the shopping if you decide to adopt a family. Too many shoppers will increase the chances of duplicate gifts.
  • Don't coerce people into participating in an office holiday tradition. Merely mention the event and allow the workers to indicate their interest.
