Step 1
Use heat to find relief. A heating bad or hot water bottle can provide immense relief. A warm bath can also work.
-
Step 2
Try an ice pack if heat does not help. Sometimes ice will draw the blood out that is causing the cramps.
-
Step 3
Perform light exercise. Walking, swimming and yoga are all moderate exercises that reduce the severity of cramps. A regular exercise routine can usually help reduce the frequency of cramps.
-
Step 4
Drink pineapple juice. Pineapples contain a substance called bromelain. Bromelain has been shown to relax the muscles.
-
Step 5
Purchase a raspberry herbal tea. Many women rely on this tea to help relieve cramps during their period.
-
Step 6
Cut back on salt and sugar. These substances can cause or worsen menstrual cramps. Avoiding them will relieve the cramps and reduce bloating.

on 7/18/2008 Ice pack will also cramp the muscle.. I dunno really how this work but cold & chilling stuff will only make my situation worst...
I recommend Okamoto Smiling Face - Heat Pad for menstrual relief. Just paste the adhesive pad on lower stomach & I can go to work normally.

on 7/18/2008 Never drink pineapple or water melon juice. It's cooling the womb and cause heavy flow of menses. Some times it can cause muscle cramps as well. Chinese believes food that cool or chill up the womb is hazardous. Try boil ginger with brown sugar, it's effective.
